Huge Beast – Day 12

The op lasted 43 tortuous hours. It wasn’t trying because of the length – capsuleers were accustomed to going months without exiting their pod. The shocks of adrenaline and serotonin that kept your body going easily beyond regular human limits. No, it was trying for two reasons:

  1. The op was not the success the CEO thought it would be. Surprise, surprise. I had been saying that for months to deaf ears.
  2. I was benched, forced to watch it all unfold without being able to do a single thing to mitigate the damage. Continue reading

So much sweat pouring off of me. Floor is slick. Can’t see. Can hardly catch breath. Muscles screaming. Must … keep … going. I think of Freddy Care, screaming at me, laughing at me, mocking the kind of pathetic example I am. I am weak. I am old. I quit too easily. I’m nothing. I roar defiantly and push forward. Huge Beast – Day 7

Sunday morning and I’m at the gym. It felt good to sleep in. Of course, most 9-5 civilians sleep in on Sundays, but for me, this was a welcome rest. Starting over today with chest and triceps. I always feel more confident the second time around. I also like to increase my weights by 5 lbs. No matter how much we think we give it everything we have, we always hold back. By increasing the weight, I can continue to focus on giving it my all. Continue reading
