I have the image of Kevin Garnett immediately after the Boston Celtics won the NBA title in 2008. The TV coverage cuts to a reporter on the floor, ready to interview Garnett. He, completely incongruously throws his head back and yells “Nothing is impossible!”
OH NO! I thought. He fucked up his line! Addidas’ (his shoe sponsor) slogan was “Impossible is nothing!” He just reached the pinnacle of his sporting career and blew his shoe model catchphrase.
My heart still aches. Hopefully he’ll get to correct the mistake this year.
