Pizza Cones

“Roc, what the hell is a pizza cone?” – Tufat Tukaar

Sometimes I speak out of turn. Sometimes in my efforts to help people live a life of wealth and health, I occasionally make references to things of my distant past. It wasn’t too long ago I mentioned the dreaded pizza cone.

Here’s a picture:

I can see some of you drooling now. All the glory of a pizza wrapped in the handy convenience of a cone. For shame.

But, I get it. I totally understand. Snack food is easy, convenient; it’s why we don’t mind paying the extra price, both financially and physically. Entire industries exist to promote this lethal cycle.

But it needs to stop.

You want taste? You want convenience? You got it. And I’ll even make it cost less!

Healthy Pizza Cone

INGREDIENTS

  • fresh tuna
  • low fat cream cheese
  • fresh mint and fennel
  • whole grain wraps
  • one lemon
  • parmesan cheese

METHOD

  1. Dice tuna into small pieces
  2. In a small bowl, mix fresh herb mint and fennel top
  3. Add to the mixture, half the lemon juice, 1/4 cup of cream cheese and the tuna
  4. Stuff the wrap, roll into a cone shape, and serve

I look forward to hearing everyone’s variations on this easy, tasty treat.

  1. I hate to say this but I will probably make the unhealthy pizza cone for lunch today =) Tuna and Cream cheese make great sushi but I’m not sold on this recipe yet.

    Maybe a more vegetarian variety?
    Chopped cauliflower
Mint or Cardamon Raita (or just Tzatziki)
    Baby Spinach leaves

I can see myself doing this:
Ground Beef Seasoned with Cinnamon and Cloves
    Brown Rice
    Yogurt (plain)
    Lemon (sprinkled on top)

    Is it lunch time yet?

  2. Variation on one of my regular lunches:
Fresh tuna (canned if you must for convenience, but low sodium)
    Fat Free Cottage Cheese
    Finely chopped baby boc choi
julianned baby carrots & green pepper (for the crunch!)
1 tsp of NutraSea Omega-3 oil (lemon flavoured)
Dash of your favourite hot sauce

For some variety swap in cabbage or baby spinach instead of the boc choi like Zymurgist does. You can also swap in canned salmon for the tuna (lower mercury if you eat a lot of tuna, and actually a better Omega-3 helping than in tuna!)

Thanks for the continued inspiration Roc!
