@Sard – funny noob story. I actually HAVE used Hail, and was freaking out when my ship wouldn’t move… took me a good ten minutes before someone in local helped me discover the weight of the ammo was greater than the capacity of my ship.
Personally, I am huge fan of autocannons, get in close, shred them up. Today’s rule is actually more about temperment than engagement.
